A Bold Rebrand for a New Era of Travel

Millennium Hotels & Resorts (MHR) has unveiled the M Social Hotel New York Downtown, marking the latest evolution of its global lifestyle brand. Formerly known as the Millennium Downtown New York, the 569-room property has undergone an extensive rebrand and renovation to reflect M Social’s forward-thinking, experience-driven identity. They showcased the property at this year’s IMEX AMERICA 2025 held at Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 7th, 2025.

This transformation underscores Millennium’s strategic focus on lifestyle travel and next-generation business guests, blending modern design, cutting-edge technology, and sustainable hospitality.

Design that Captures the Pulse of Lower Manhattan

Located at 55 Church Street in the heart of the Financial District, M Social New York Downtown offers direct access to landmarks including The Oculus and One World Trade Center.

Designed by BHDM Design, the interiors reinterpret the vibrant energy of Lower Manhattan through bold motifs referencing Wall Street’s “Charging Bull” and the architectural fluidity of The Oculus. With curvilinear architecture, metallic finishes, and rich red and gold tones, the space exudes the kinetic rhythm of city life.

The lobby—featuring immersive art installations—serves as a social hub for travelers, creators, and entrepreneurs alike.

Sustainability Meets Smart Living

M Social’s sustainability features include:

  • LED lighting and eco-conscious materials
  • Aluminum water bottles with refill stations
  • Smart room controls to optimize energy efficiency

The hotel’s six upgraded meeting and event spaces, spanning over 3,500 sq. ft., are equipped with 98-inch 4K screens, wireless casting, and integrated conferencing systems—meeting the evolving needs of hybrid and tech-enabled events.

Redefining Guest Experience

Guests can choose from 569 newly renovated rooms, including 98 suites with panoramic views of the Hudson River or the Brooklyn Bridge.

The hotel introduces Beast & Butterflies, a signature dining experience blending Spanish-tapas artistry with Manhattan flair.

Beyond dining, the lobby doubles as a cultural gathering space—hosting live music, art showcases, and local pop-ups. Guests can even engage with the property digitally through M Social Decentraland, the brand’s metaverse hospitality platform.

A Strategic Move in a Shifting Market

The opening aligns with MHR’s global Growth, Entrepreneurial Spirit, and Transformation (GET) strategy. Analysts highlight the rebrand’s goal to attract younger business and leisure travelers seeking experience-driven stays.

Early performance indicates strong market reception, with the hotel achieving an average daily rate (ADR) approximately 20% higher than its previous corporate-hotel iteration.

Empowering the Events & Entrepreneurship Ecosystem

For Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Nevada, M Social New York Downtown represents more than a hospitality milestone—it exemplifies how innovation, design, and sustainability intersect to shape modern global business experiences.

Its flexible, tech-forward meeting venues are ideally suited for startups, investors, and changemakers who value collaboration and cultural immersion. The property’s model reflects the entrepreneurial spirit that drives global hospitality and small-business ecosystems alike. Inspired by Kinetic art, this is a space for kinetic conversations.
