Lauren Jones is a co-founder, entrepreneur, and lead strategist at Alter New Media, a full-service marketing agency she established with Nadya Rousseau. Initially starting as a digital production house, the company now focuses on marketing, media, and tech, emphasizing purpose-driven marketing, public relations, partnership facilitation, and digital production. Under her leadership, Alter New Media has supported over 1000 companies and creators worldwide, providing services that include brand and marketing strategy development, end-to-end digital marketing, influencer marketing, and public relations.

Jones’ journey to establishing Alter New Media began in 2016, when, faced with limited career prospects, she decided to change her career trajectory. She initially offered a range of services, including headshots, videography, video editing, photo editing, publicity, and social media management. As her venture with Nadya Rousseau evolved, they expanded to include influencer marketing, press pitching, and sophisticated marketing strategies. Now, the company boasts a diverse team of fifteen individuals, including videographers, copywriters, editors, project managers, email marketers, and more.

Alter New Media is distinguished by its commitment to pairing purpose with profit. The agency believes that companies can positively impact society while still being profitable. This ethos is evident in their approach to creating “purposeful partnerships,” where for-profit companies are matched with nonprofits for mutual benefit. One notable project involved working with Collette Divitto, an entrepreneur with Down Syndrome who founded Collettey’s Cookies, employing individuals with disabilities and advocating for their better job prospects and outcomes. Another notable project she’s working on is community partnerships for The Future of Money, Governance, and the Law, which takes place on Capitol Hill and the St. Gregory Hotel in Washington D.C., October 29-30th!

Jones attributes her success to her commitment and leadership skills, ensuring her team has the support and tools to meet clients’ expectations. She emphasizes the importance of understanding team members’ personalities and setting boundaries to foster a productive work environment.
