Las Vegas, NV – The recent Freedom Week event series in Las Vegas celebrated and empowered veteran entrepreneurs, bringing together a community of veterans, supporters, and key figures dedicated to honoring and supporting those who have served. The event featured a variety of workshops, networking opportunities, and special recognitions, drawing a standing room attendance of approximately 50 people. Thanks to donors like couple Don and Katya Hayley bringing books such as Gordy Bal's The New Millionaire's Playbook: 7 Keys to Unlock Freedom, Purpose, and Abundance, the Veteran Entreprenuerial library is stocked with educational and value you driven content.
US Senator Rosen played a pivotal role in the event, recognizing key partners for their contributions in making the veteran-focused library possible. The team recieved certificates of recognition. Among the notable guests were Veterans Congressional Advocate Christina Rebecca Thomas, CD-4 Veterans Caseworker Larry Hamms, NV Assemblywoman Clara Thomas, Jason LeDuc CEO of LeDuc Leadership, West Las Vegas Library Branch Manager Lenina Coleman, SBA Veteran Business Outreach Center Director Lourdes Madrigal, and US Senator Rosen's Regional Representative Eric Cardona.
The event also highlighted an ongoing campaign to showcase veteran stories, which are set to be archived with UNLV Libraries and included in a podcast and mini-documentary series focusing on the impact of veterans in Las Vegas. To date, there have been 12+ veteran nominations for this project.

The success of Freedom Week underscored the importance of supporting veteran entrepreneurs and the positive impact they have on the community. With more ongoing campaigns, including a veteran documentary and podcast featuring the nomination of veteran stories, the spirit of Freedom Week will continue to thrive, empowering veterans and highlighting their invaluable contributions to society. With Dave Burlin (Nevada State Coordinator) at the helm of operations, the GEW Squad including Elias Benjelloun (North Las Vegas Coordinator) and Megan Buckley (Las Vegas Coordinator) alongside the committee Nadya Rousseau (PR and social media), Lauren Jones (PR and social media), Suriel Cruz (Photography and videography), and Ben Laifsky (Web development and Marketing) worked together to produce a thriving Freedom Week community.
